K3SD uses a dual-licensing model: an open-source license for the Community edition, and commercial licenses for Pro and Enterprise.
| Edition | License | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Community | BSL 1.1 | Free for non-competing use |
| Pro | Commercial | Monthly subscription |
| Enterprise | Commercial | Annual license agreement |
The K3SD Community edition source code is licensed under the Business Source License 1.1 (BSL 1.1).
On April 1, 2030 (4 years from the initial release), the source code covered by this BSL will automatically convert to the Apache License 2.0, a fully permissive open-source license.
You may use the Licensed Work for any purpose except offering it as a commercial Kubernetes monitoring product or service that competes with K3SD.
